The school year has commenced far smoother this year than in the previous ones as we have had a working timetable from day one. It has made such a difference. Staff are far more content and the students are settled. I am amazed at the difference a good timetable has on staff morale.

This term I have been teaching classes of year 9 boys. I have started with material from ‘A Sneaking Suspicion’ which commences with a lesson on sex. I was saddened when I heard one student who shared honestly that he has been advised that when he is older to have as many different partners as possible as often as possible until he is old enough to settle down. I got a sense from other classes that he isn’t the only one to be given this advice. I went home prayed, thought and planned a different lesson. I got shocking statistics showing that if you have had 12 partners chances are you have exposed yourself to over 1,000 people. I also got a copy of Nooma’s ‘Flame’ DVD and showed it. In the documentary Rob Bell explains the three different loves found in the Hebrew language used in the bible (friendship, commitment and physical love). He argues that to have the full impact of how God has designed human sexuality we need the three. The boys were shocked at the statistics and I pray challenged by the Nooma DVD.

Thank you for your continued generosity.

Thank God for his continued provision of the Government’s Chaplaincy Funding

Please continue to pray for

·        the staff and students at RRHS

·        the upcoming Beautiful program where year 7 girls will be challenged to understand how beautiful they truly are.

·        the High Court Judges as they deliberate on the constitutional validity of the Federal Government Financially supporting Chaplaincy.
