Praise: Initial classes with Year
7’s saw an incredible response
to my testimony of the power and kindness of God. I was reminded
of the
scripture that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and I
believe
that the declaration of God’s goodness will open up the
possibility for amazing
transformation in their lives. Students then also began to share
their
own stories concerning the power of God and how they have witnessed it
firsthand themselves. There was a tangible substance to their
faith in
the room.
Students have been challenged to recognise the importance
of connection
to God in a lesson we have been going thru on choosing priorities. I have been able to testify of how union with
God brings about perspective in life. It
has also been encouraging to see that many students understand the
importance
of love and relationships in life and to prioritise investing into them.
The swimming carnival was a great time to connect with
staff and
students in a different context. We had
such a fun day together and I was able to chat with staff about some of
the lessons
we have been doing in SRE. They were
encouraged to hear some of the self reflection that has opened up thru
my
classes.
The
Mountain Men program has recommenced with 15 boys between Years
8-10. It
is providing some good opportunities to connect relationally and
teaching the
boys self discipline and team work. I am also mentoring and
supporting around 10 students who are working thru a range of
issues.
I am now assisting with the school chess team which will
provide good
opportunities to connect with different students.
Pray:
- I
continue to be filled up with God's love and can express his heart to
the
school community.
- The
culture of the kingdom
of God permeates
the
school community and brings transformation.
- Wisdom and insight as I prepare upcoming lessons
for classes.
